Roots Alex Haley

While not technically a Pulitzer Prize recipient, Alex Haley’s Roots earned a special Pulitzer Prize-Fiction citation in 1977 for its achievements in “faction,” or a work of combined fact and fiction. As no Fiction prize was given that year, Roots is commonly considered the true Pulitzer Prize novel of 1977. The Gianakos-Safos Collection includes three copies of Roots, including a US signed first trade edition and a US signed limited issue printing, of which this copy is #47 of 500 copies made.
