Hamlin Garland’s A Daughter of the Middle Border (Pulitzer Prize-Biography, 1922) is the second volume of a tetralogy by the author. In addition to holding a US first printing of this book, The Gianakos-Safos Collection also contains pristine copies of the other three entries in Garland’s tetralogy, including A Son of the Middle Border (1917)–an author inscribed limited first printing–Trail-Makers of the Middle Border (1926), and Back Trailers from the Middle Border (1928) .
